The Naked Classroom.... seriously

"I'm gonna put a curse on you and all your kids will be born completely naked." -Jimi Hendrix

Ok, so not totally in relation to the classroom but much in common if you think about it--  I walked into the class today and relaized, I have nothing except a bathroom, cubbys, a sink, white board, and the polyboard. Which once I list it seems a little more than nothing...but it still is nothing.

Lots of work soon to come.....

Class List

"If you do not expect the unexpected you will not find it, for it is not to be reached by search or trail."--Heraclitus

I received my *tentative* roll today... being that I have worked in the school for the past few years, I know some of the students-- boy was I right about the learning differences... as well as behavior. However, as I told one of my friends IT COULD BE WORSE. The boys I do know, I enjoy. They are to say the least entertaining, loving, and sweet. It is the ones that I do not know that concern me. However, expect the unexpected!

Heres to a class of 21... as of now!

New title in the same place....

"If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living." - Gail Sheehy

For the past 7 years my life has existed to care for children and not my own might I add. I have no biological kids, though on a good day I'll call 40 of them mine. I will soon leave those 40, the title of Miss. Leah, and the craziness of after schoolers to explore the world of teaching... not just helping with homework or easy summer lessons but actual teaching with constant lesson planning, data collecting, and 7 o'clock mornings.

Change is critical for making progress, I know this and it is not much of a concern. What concerns me is that I really have no idea on God's green (sometimes brown) earth of what I am doing. I have been left with nothing but the standards, not even a classroom I can enter for another few weeks (yes school starts after labor day) due to its a new building and things are still not completely finished.

Any advice with classroom management, reading centers, math centers, focus boards, surviving.....
